Special learning needs (SLN)

The term, 'Special learning needs' applies to students needing extraordinary support to succeed at school. There are three categories of SLN students.

  1. Those with significant physical, cognitive or social disabilities

  2. Those with significant high level abilities

  3. Those with languages other than the language of instruction

Schools are artificial constructs, convenient to modern society. Atypical students are not at fault if they do not fit and it is the role of the school to meet their needs.
